Exploring Autumn: A Look at the Latest Updates from the Creaky Easel

I have several new designs ready to be put on canvas. I am currently working in 36x36 inch size in order to build up a consistent body of work. All are wildlife. So far,  all of the work I am doing in pastels is also wildlife. This new medium has been a blessing for me as I am able to do these smaller works from my living room as I relax with hubby in front of the tv in the evenings. This new work is a combination of drawing and painting and fits into my habit of sketching.

The leaves are falling and there is such a chill in the air now. I am hoping that winter does not decend until after Halloween as it is just so beautiful with the brilliant colors.

On the personal side of things, I miss having my grandchildren popping in and out of the studio on a daily basis but am happy that they are enjoying living in town where they can walk to school and visit friends.

Recently, I went to Vancouver Island to catch up with family members and was able to get some lovely photos but left my camera behind in my son’s truck so will be having that shipped back to me soon. Such a wonderful trip, so much to see and do. The only thing I did not manage to do was get to an art supply store as it seems I was the only one in the group who wanted to do that!

In order to have more time to call my own, I have cut back on shows and competitions and opted out of local art groups for the foreseeable future. All sales will be through the website aside from commission work. If you are interested in a commissioned piece, email me directly at creakyeasel@gmail.com and we can work out a plan.
